One of the reasons why small business owners are preferring to use books for keeping records is because of the lack of affordable computers, especially in smaller cities and towns.
Though laptops are available they are mostly very expensive costing more than Rs 25000. If the business has only a few sales or payments in a month, it is far cheaper to use a book for keeping records, rather invest in a computer.
Additionally computer maintenance is also expensive, and often one or more part of the computer can fail.
